The Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission is a 5-member commission that provides advice and planning to the Mayor and City Council on matters related to public parks and recreation programming in the city. The Commission operates pursuant to Chapter 65 of the Pittston City Code.
The City of Pittston offers the following public parks and playgrounds:
Albert West Park: Dedicated in July 1922 in memory of a World War I veteran, this park is located on upper Swallow Street and includes a football field with a running track and is home of the Pittston Junior Patriots Football Team.
James Clark Park: Located at Curry and Cliff Streets, this facility includes a soccer field and a children's playground and is home of the Greater Pittston Stoners Youth soccer team
Jefferson Park: Located at New and Cornelia Streets, this facility includes a children's playground, basketball court, and pavilion
Sullivan Park: Located at Church Street and Hill Park Avenue, this facility includes softball and baseball fields and is home of Pittston’s Little League team and Pittston’s Summer Playground Program.
Riverfront Park: Located along the banks of the historic Susquehanna River, this beautiful river front facility includes artwork, benches, and a hiking/running trail. Access is along Kennedy Boulevard near Water Street.
Sam Miceli Veterans Park: Is a memorial along Kennedy Boulevard near the entrance ramps to the boulevard that contains monuments to veterans who participated in various wars.
