Electronics Recycling Day

-

Have old electronics collecting dust in your basement or garage? Now’s your chance to responsibly dispose of them—safely and locally!

The City of Pittston is hosting its annual Electronics Recycling Day on Saturday, June 28th, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM (or until the recycling truck is full). This event will take place at the Pittston Memorial Library parking lot at 47 Broad Street.

This convenient drive-thru recycling opportunity allows you to safely get rid of unwanted electronics, small appliances, and more—without ever leaving your vehicle. For everyone’s safety, we ask all participants to remain in their cars while items are unloaded.

✅ What You Can Recycle:

Many items can be recycled for free, including:

  • Desktop computers

  • Printers

  • DVD players

  • Cell phones

  • Small kitchen appliances

  • Laptop and tool batteries

Other items—like TVs, refrigerators, air conditioners, and microwaves—can be accepted for a small fee. A full list of acceptable items and pricing can be found on the flyer below.

🗑️ Need to securely destroy data?

Hard drive and document destruction services will also be available on-site for a fee, complete with a certificate of destruction.

💡 Important Reminders:

  • The City will cover the cost of one item per vehicle.

  • Exact change or check only, payable to Responsible Recycling Services (RRS).
